Annual Lionel Cohen Lecture 2015
On Monday 23 November 2015 the Law Faculty at the Hebrew University hosted the 2015 Annual Lionel Cohen Lecture, now in its 62nd year.
The guest speaker was Judge Sir Christopher Greenwood CMG QC who is a judge of the International Court of Justice in The Hague.
A large and enthusiastic audience including British Ambassador to Israel, David Quarrey, packed into the Maeirsdorf Club on Mount Scopus campus to hear Judge Greenwood expound his views on "Magna Carta and the Development of Modern International Law".
The lecture was a fascinating insight into what may have at first seemed to be a somewhat esoteric subject, but Judge Greenwood's carefully constructed lecture left nobody in any doubt that the fundamental principles laid down by 13th century English barons still resonate very powerfully in today's complicated world.
