Next time you visit a pharmacy in the UK, look for Salistick, the world’s first rapid saliva-based pregnancy test, detecting the beta human chorionic gonadotropin hormone (a giveaway for conception) in 10 minutes with 95% accuracy, that was listed by Time Magazine among the best inventions for 2023.
The UK in just this past summer sold around 20,000 units in the first two months. Salistick was invented by the Israeli startup and Biotech company Salignostics, that was founded with the brilliant science by Professor Aaron Palmon of the Hebrew University, a world-class researcher in saliva, and currently Vice President for the Hebrew University Research and Development Authority ; The dedicated team of Salginostics, Dr. Omer Deutsch, who serves as CEO; Dr. Guy Krief, Deputy CEO and Director of Business Development; Dr. Raluca Cohen, Chief Scientific Officer; and Dr. Yoav Neumann, Senior Researcher continue to push the vision forward. Yissum, the tech transfer company of the Hebrew University has assisted in commercializing this science from the lab to the world.
