The Hebrew University community is invited to watch a newly released documentary by the Lundbeck Foundation, inspired by the 2024 Brain Prize recipients. The 34-minute film, Artificial Intelligence: From Mind to Machine, explores the neuroscience foundations of artificial intelligence—its origins, evolution, and current applications. It is designed for a general audience and premiered last week to a full house in Copenhagen during International Brain Awareness Week.
The film features Professor Haim Sompolinsky, a physicist and neuroscience researcher at the Edmond and Lily Safra Center for Neuroscience (ELSC) at the Hebrew University and Professor at the Center for Brain Science (CBS) at Harvard University. Professor Sompolinsky is the first Israeli scientist to receive the prestigious Brain Prize. He shares the €1.3 million award with Professor Larry Abbott (Columbia University) and Professor Terrence Sejnowski (Salk Institute), recognized for their pioneering contributions to theoretical neuroscience.
