When HUJI student Yoni Shrits joined a humanitarian mission to Ukraine a few months ago, he noticed that many problems at the Polish-Ukrainian border weren’t being dealt with. For example, there were not enough Ukrainian and Russian speaking volunteers present. Back in Israel, Yoni recruited volunteers and donations through Facebook and organized another delegation to the border, to address exactly these needs.
To honor his outstanding commitment, Yoni has been awarded our Rector’s Prize.
