Please join us for an exclusive webinar featuring Dr Raphael Benhamou from the Hebrew University, and co-sponsored by Yissum and AFHU. Dr Benhamou will present his groundbreaking work on RNA-targeted therapies, which could revolutionise treatments for diseases like cancer and infections.

As an Assistant Professor at HU’s School of Pharmacy, Dr Raphael Benhamou has led cutting-edge research since 2021. His previous experience includes post-doctoral research at Scripps Research Institute, where he focused on designing small molecules targeting RNAs. Dr. Benhamou focuses on the role of RNA in disease, using organic chemistry to create small molecules that bind to and modify specific RNA motifs. These molecules function as both probes for studying RNA complexes and potential drugs for treating diseases ranging from cancer to infectious diseases.

I. Steven Edelson is Secretary of the American Friends of the Hebrew University (AFHU) National Board of Directors and serves on its Executive Committee and Nominations Committee. He also serves as President of the AFHU Midwest Region. A 1977 Hebrew University alumnus, Steven is a Governor of the university’s International Board of Governors, a trustee of the university’s Harry S. Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace, and a member of the Rothberg International School Board. In 2015, Steven was honored as an AFHU Leader of Distinction.
