Inside My Head: Convergence of Art and the Brain
Paula Crown is a multimedia artist with a practice encompassing drawing, painting, video, and sculpture. Crown rigorously incorporates cutting-edge technology, social activism, collaboration, and a commitment to sustainability in her studio practice. Crown’s works are in numerous public and top-100 private collections. In 2009, President Barack Obama appointed Crown to the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities. She is a member of the board of trustees of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, where she chairs the Education Committee. She also serves on the Aspen Institute Committee of the Arts. Leon Deouell is the Jack H. Skirball Professor in Brain Research, Human Cognitive Neuroscience Lab at the Edmond and Lily Safra Center for Brain Sciences at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The focus of Prof. Deouell's Lab is on the interface between automatic, non-conscious stages of information processing in the brain and conscious perception and action. He uses various neuroimaging methods, including EEG and fMRI to study the activity of the human brain in these processes, in healthy individuals and after brain damage.
