- Mechina (Preparatory Programme): Earning a bachelor’s degree in a new country can be challenging. The one-year Mechina programme provides support and preparation for high school graduates from abroad who wish to pursue undergraduate studies in Israel but do not qualify for direct admission. As a Mechina student, you’ll engage in intensive Hebrew language courses and, if needed, English language courses. You’ll also take classes in mathematics or statistics, Jewish and Israel studies, and choose introductory courses in subjects like psychology, business, statistics, international relations, or economics. Additionally, special preparatory tracks are available for high school graduates from France (Basis) and from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, and Latvia (Yesod). Graduates of these tracks can gain direct admission to Hebrew University’s bachelor’s programs without taking the Psychometric Entrance Test.
